Реализация экспериментального подхода к изучению экономических (социально-экономических) процессов. Как научная дисциплина Э.э. еще не вполне оформилась. Ясно лишь, что это наука, которая: а) изучает экономические явления и процессы посредством экспериментов на реальных экономических объектах и моделях и б) разрабатывает методы и инструментарий таких исследований. Экспериментирование на реальных объектах называется полевым или реальным, или действительным (подробнее см. в статье Экономический эксперимент), а на моделях — лабораторным, компьютерным, имитационным. Лабораторными могут быть также человеко-машинные эксперименты, в которых участники взаимодействуют между собой и с ЭВМ. (См. Деловые игры, Олигопольные эксперименты, Стендовое экспериментирование). Внимание многих исследователей, занятых Э.э. сосредоточивается на групповых имитационных экспериментах — такие группы в разное время существовали и некоторые из них продолжают действовать в России (ЦЭМИ, МГУ, ЛГУ и др.), в ФРГ — в университете Франкфурта-на-Майне, в США, где извеcтны работы В.Смита, А.Тверского и др.. На Западе Э.э. во многом направлена на анализ рынка, конкурентных отношений, монополистического поведения, аукционов и др. Их методологической основой служит теория игр. Другое направление — исследование экономического поведения людей, поставленных в специальные условия, например, изучение реакции на рекламу, на те или иные изменения цен, анализ кривых безразличия (здесь Э.э. в ряде случаев сближается с экспериментальной психологией) развивается в Швеции и США. В России после взлета интереса к Э.э., происшедшего в 60-80-е гг., внимание к этой теме резко сократилось (последней книгой по этой теме была, по-видимому, наша работа, опубликованная еще в 1968 г.[1], единичные работы обзорного характера публиковались в журнале «Экономика и математические методы».)
